Anodic oxidation is the electrochemical oxidation process of metals or alloys. The process in which aluminum and its alloys form an oxide film on aluminum products (anodes) under the action of an external current under corresponding electrolytes and specific process conditions. Anodizing usually refers to sulfuric acid anodizing, which utilizes electrochemical principles to generate a layer of Al2O3 (aluminum oxide) film on the surface of aluminum and aluminum alloys.

The difference between ‌‌ hard oxidation and ‌ common oxidation

 

Film thickness ‌ : The thickness of the hard oxide film is generally greater than 15μm, and the thickness of the ordinary oxide film is thinner.


‌Surface state ‌ : the common oxidized surface is flat, the hard oxidized surface is rough.


‌Porosity ‌ : common oxidation porosity is high, hard oxidation porosity is low.

What are the common colors of aluminum anodizing?
