What Is Injection Molding?

Injection molding is a manufacturing process in which molten material is injected into a prepared mold and allowed to cool. During cooling, the material solidifies and takes on the shape of the mold before being discharged. Although this process can be used for one-time production, it is usually used for batch production of the same parts. The most commonly used materials in injection molding are plastics or elastomers.
